Only 18 kilometres from the most beautiful natural beach of the island, in the middle of the central Mallorcan plain ‘Es Pla’, stands the small village of Porreres. The gentle hills with their surrounding woods, almond and apricot trees, together with the flocks of sheep in the lush green grass, make up a tranquil landscape that is one of the most bucolic on the island. Away from the main traffic arteries of the island, Porreres has managed to preserve its rural tranquillity. Porreres, whose roots go back to 1300, is a traditional municipality of some 5,000 inhabitants in which agriculture still plays an important role.
